24 JANUARY 2015This is our 3rd class, i heard our lecturer get a high fever and cant attend our Wednesday class.
This week we learn about Ancient Arts and Egypt Arts. They have their religion such as polytheism, magic, politics (this politics means the ruler views as god), afterlife. Art - provide service for Ra. There is a great designer that we learn which is Imhotep, the designer for pyramids.
Lets talk about pyramids, it is a burial place of rulers. Locates at western side of Nile river. Our lecturer also told us the pyramids took 20 years to build and it is Giza constructed. So you will be think why? why pyramids idea is formed? How? So, actually the pyramids idea is started by star observation.
Temple, it play important role in religion & politics. Greek play role in intellectual & science and also religion. Greek is well known in vase painting, sculpture(which is relaxed position, called Contrapposto).
After that Rome start copy the Greek Arts. In religion, Greek use god and Rome use Zeus/Jupiter. Roman, fresco and illusion. fresco is Italian for fresh. They made scroll/books , it is hand-made by using animal skin and it is for religion uses. Rebirth of large scale architecture/sculpture, basilica of St Semin, toulouse. Gothic Arts, last 200 years it is began in France. Most Gothic art took the forms of sculpture, panel painting, stained glass, frescos, illuminated manuscripts. During Medival time religion is important.

i love History of Arts

So we learn about history of art and design this week. the first lesson we learn that the difference of art and design. First, art is more basically on outer looks, it is a creation that can create expression that brings out feelings. Art is created using many ways, it can use the media as paper, nature, things and others...as long as those creation contain feelings and expression.
We also learn the difference of design, design is the things that the designer do and create a design for user to use it. The difference of design is the create is do for the user to use it easily, flexible, good and nice to use the things. The design also can be graphical design like the product, designer make it easy to understand and the instructions.
The second class, we learn the ancient art. We learn about the Paleditic Period that theres caves painting- found in France/Spain/Australia. The ancient people drew directly on walls, they use stone to write.
We also learn some Mesopotamia Period arts or words. Our lecturer show us on the LCD hows the ancient scripts looks like. Prove that old time the people keep recording things. We also know hows the cuneiform looks like, and also some information about papyrus to make paper that we learn before at form 5 History, Theres also chia-ku-wen from china, the progress of chia-ku-wen, paper,printing,first motive type. Our lecturer told us the Alphabets comes from Greek also known as alpha-beta. The last things that i know is the type of manuscripts, theres many manuscripts like , Islamic,Judaic,late medieval illuminated manuscript and so on but i don't really remember the others manuscripts.
